Welcome to ‘Beyond Space Residential Design'. Based on the Central Coast, we have designed homes across NSW. We’re a small building design studio who pride ourselves on our personal approach to designing your home. We work with you to create a design that is perfect for your lifestyle. Functionality is such a personal issue, what works for you might not work for others and that is perfectly ok. We take you all the way from an initial consultation, through the approval process, to full construction drawings ready to hand off to the builder.
We (Tracey & Denise) are both building designers who graduated with architectural degrees from the University of Newcastle. We met each other working in another building design practice on the coast and discovered our philosophies and practices were aligned. After working together for a number of years we decided to open our own business. Now we offer our expertise, opinions and advice ensuring the end product goes above and beyond your initial expectations.

"We were referred to several designers to update and extend our 20yr old double storey family home. Tracey proved to be the only choice, due to her professional approach, personable communication style, patience and sincere desire to provide for us with the best possible outcome. Our project involved a full internal and external renovation, structural changes and an extension. Tracey actively listened to our needs and transformed these ideas into drawings. Tracey demonstrated excellent skills in building design and communication with all stakeholders. She provided quotes from Engineers and Certifiers and liaised with them, Council and the Builder to ensure we achieved our dream.
Tracey advised our options for the Development Application process, respected our informed choice and comprehensively represented us during this process. We consulted with our neighbours, finalised the drawings and Tracey subsequently submitted our Planning application. Unfortunately, one member of a household, represented by a Planning Consultant, objected to the application. Tracey was able to provide Council with a substantial response to the objection and in a timely manner, Council reviewed the objection and our response and visited the sites before determining there was no merit to the objection. The DA was approved and there was no appeal to the decision.

"We recently hired Tracey to help us with our renovation – an additional living area and a redesign of our kitchen, laundry, dining and family areas. Unlike some designers we spoke to, Tracey took the time to understand us, to understand our family, our needs, our quirks, the things we deem important and the things we don’t, and worked with us to design a setting for our family and friends to live, laugh and interact in. While we hope to turn earth in a few months, the project made it through council first time without any amendments, which is considered quite an achievement in fire prone land (flame zone) and Ku-ring-gai Council.
